Video Capture – recording hints - 102 Using
the Google Chrome Canary browser We recommend using the Google Chrome Canary browser
for recording instead of your regular browser. It is not a good idea to use
your regular browser for recording especially if you are having multiple tabs
or you need to disable hardware acceleration. Canary browser is a better way
to record videos from your screen. Besides avoiding issues with your regular browser, Replay
Video will be able to record all video using the enhanced recording features
of the Background mode including UHD and PIP recording without the need to
disable the acceleration. Step 1 – Download
Canary browser Download Canary browser from https://www.google.com/intl/en_pk/chrome/canary/ Step 2 –
Create Canary shortcut When installation is finished Replay Video displays the
message “Chrome Canary installed. Click OK to create Canary shortcut for
recording”. This makes our Canary shortcut and icon dedicated for recording.
When you open the Properties of our Canary shortcut you must see the comment “Google
Chrome Canary browser for recording”. If the message above is not shown when Canary
installation is finished, click the Help button (“?”) on Replay Video
main screen, then click Quick Help, Quick Guide, Create Canary shortcut. You
can also create the Canary shortcut for recording in Settings. If a Canary icon was placed in your taskbar by the
Canary installer delete this icon. Step 3 –
Open Canary browser Open the “?” Help button on Replay Video main
screen then click Open Canary browser. You can also use Settings,
Tools, Google Chrome Canary browser, Open Chrome Canary. The two options above guaranty that the opened Canary
is the Canary you should be using for recording. This browser will not require
disabling the hardware acceleration. The Canary icon on the desktop can also be used
if this is the “Google Chrome Canary browser for recording” created by Replay
Video as shown above. |
